Term 4 (Boys): Year 10 Rat Race Nottingham to Paris...Session Two:

On the 10th of April, the Year 10 Boys experienced their second session of the 'Rat Race: Nottingham to Paris in the Gym at the Djanogly Leisure Centre. It was a very competitive session and all students were full of energy striving to gain the bonuses on offer en route across the country.

The boys were aware of how well their team did the week before, as the team leader was emailed the link to the blog. The boys reflected on last weeks scores, they were told that the teams that gained the greatest distance in KM were the teams that had all members hit a bonus (at least x2). Teams then began talking and at least 5KM was the target for all students.

A whopping total of 850.75KM was covered by the four teams competing, which is a whopping increase of 187.55KM to the first sessions total.

The boys were working together selecting which piece of equipment was the most effective from session 1 and how long to stay on for e.g. Treadmill/ Exercise Bike/ Rowing Machine etc. All teams worked very hard and at the end of the session all of the individual scores were recorded and totalled.

After the second session the scores are as follows;

4TH PLACE:

TEAM 4
TOTAL: 306.49KM
POSITION: Just outside Dover

3RD PLACE:

TEAM 1
TOTAL: 373.03KM
POSITION: Just outside Calais in the English Channel

2ND PLACE:

TEAM 3
TOTAL: 387.07KM
POSITION: In France, Just left Calais on the E15

1ST PLACE:

TEAM 2
TOTAL: 447.36KM
POSITION: In France, Just outside Bethune

We also had some amazing individual scores this week from three different boys from last week and the top 3 from this week recorded;

1st = 65.00KM (x4 Bonus)
2nd = 57.60KM (x4 Bonus)
3rd = 50.32KM (x4 Bonus)

Excellent second session in the 'Rat Race: Nottingham to Paris!!! Can Team 4 gain ground on Team 1?, will Team 1 have a deep push and catch Team 3?, and will Team 2 continue to lead after Week 3? Only the next session will answer these questions!

Next week the full individual standings will be available to view and we will have a twist after session 3 to see who will win the individual competition!!

Bring on session 3 on Tuesday!!
