Term 4 (Boys): Year 10 Rat Race Nottingham to Paris...Session Three:

On the 17th of April, the Year 10 Boys experienced their third session of the 'Rat Race: Nottingham to Paris' in the Gym at the Djanogly Leisure Centre. It was a very competitive session and all pupils were full of energy striving to gain the bonuses on offer en route across the country.

The boys were aware of how well their team did the week before, as the team leader was emailed the link to the blog. The girls reflected on last weeks scores, they were told that the teams that gained the greatest distance in KM were the teams that had all members hit a bonus (at least x2). Teams then began talking and at least 7KM was the target for all students.

A whopping total of 653.64KM was covered by the four teams competing!! which was less than last week but it was a very busy afternoon in the Gym (Compared to 850.75KM from session 2).

The boys were working together selecting which piece of equipment was the most effective from session 1 and how long to stay on for e.g. Treadmill/ Exercise Bike/ Rowing Machine etc. All teams worked very hard and at the end of the session all of the individual scores were recorded and totalled.

After the second session the scores are as follows;

4TH PLACE:

TEAM 4
TOTAL: 446.30KM
POSITION: Just outside Dover

3RD PLACE:

TEAM 1
TOTAL: 486.96KM
POSITION: Just outside Calais in the English Channel

2ND PLACE:

TEAM 3
TOTAL: 560.13KM
POSITION: In France, Just left Calais on the E15

1ST PLACE:

WELL DONE TO.......TEAM 2!!

They have reached the destination of Paris!! An amazing effort by all team members who worked very hard to snatch Victory from Team 3!! Now the race is on for 2nd and 3rd place!! Will Team 4 catch Team 1 or will Team 1 overtake Team 2 to snatch second place!!!

Here are Team 2's weekly totals!!
Week 1 = 172.24KM
Week 2 = 275.12KM
Week 3 = 226.84KM

The individual competition rolls into the final week and it could all change in Session Four. Will TEAM 2  ease up after their team victory or will they push for extra KM in the individual competition?

It all comes down to the last session!!

Later today the TOP 10 Individuals will be announced!! Will you be in the TOP 10??

Bring on Session Four on Tuesday!!
