Final PE Session of Term 2

Yesterday was the final session for the Year 11 Girls and as a reward for their hard work over Term 1 & 2, they went outdoor Ice Skating in the centre of Nottingham.

We headed to the Old Market Square in Nottingham, to the National Ice Centre Outdoor Rink. Here are a few snapshots of the afternoon.

The girls thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and even when it snowed there were no complaints. Also, the non skaters who were lacking confidence powered through and were skating solo around the rink by the end of the session.

A very successful two terms for the class and we can look forward to Swimming/ Boxing next term.

Session Four 9th of December 2010

On the 9th of December, it was session 4 (Final Session) of the Djanogly Rat Race Nottingham to Paris! Up for grabs was 2nd/ 3rd and 4th place in the Team competition and the final placings in the Individual competition.
Lanasujoja arrived in Paris in Session 3 but after the posting of the individual placings, they knew that one of their team members was in with a chance of individual success. Six Lions knew that a strong session today could get them to Paris before Barbie Girls as they had a 270KM lead in 2nd Place and the Year 11 Girls were powering into a very tense session.

A staggering 835.99KM was covered by all teams! which was a decrease on last weeks total but the staggering TOTAL for all 4 weeks is 3,038.88KM

The FINAL standings are as follows;
4th Place:

Spongebob Circle Pants : )
TOTAL = 475.34KM
POSITION = In France, just outside Arras.

3rd Place:

 Barbie Girls
TOTAL = 751KM

POSITION = In Paris, France.

2nd Place:

Six Lions
TOTAL = 751KM

POSITION = In Paris, France.

1st Place:

WINNERS = Lanasujoja

The individual competition came to a close and it was a tense session between the TOP 3 students.The TOP 3 students are;

CONGRATULATIONS!! 1st PLACE = Sarah (455.68KM)

2nd PLACE = Aqeelah (360.48KM)

3rd PLACE = Joy (338.48KM)

It was a very successful 4 sessions and the students thoroughly enjoyed the excitement of the competition. For the Individual race the Winning trophy will be presented to Sarah on Thursday the 16th of December. The prizes and medals for 2nd/ 3rd place will be received in the New Year.

For a very successful term of PE, all students will be rewarded by heading to the Market Square for a Ice Skating session. Letters have already been given to students and DONT forget to bring your reply slip back for consent.

Week 6: Individual Rat Race Poll Final Standings

The final standings are in and a HUGE thankyou to all the students that voted over the last 48hrs. Here are the final standings;

1st = Sarah
2nd = Hussna
3rd = Anisa/ Aqeelah/ Demi
6th = Adila
7th = Lauren/ PJ
9th = Joanna/ Joy

The reason for the poll was for each member of the top ten to gain extra KM, the place that they finished in would then earn them extra KM.
For example;
1st = 100km
2nd = 90km
3rd = 80km
4th = 70km
5th = 60km
6th = 50km
7th = 40km
8th = 30km
9th = 20km
10th = 10km

If there was a tie in positions then the points would be shared evenly for the places that are eliminated.
For example,
- Joint 3rd are Anisa/ Aqeelah/ Demi
- The points awarded for those 3positions are as follows;
                                                                                      3rd = 80km
                                                                                      4th = 70km
                                                                                      5th = 60km (Total of = 210/ 3 = 70km each)

Week 6: The Final Week of the Djanogly 'Rat Race: Nottingham to Paris'

Its the final week, this week the final standings will be established in the;
1. Team Race (Places 2nd/ 3rd /4th)
2. Individual Race (Places 1st - 25th)

Week 5: Djanogly Year 11 Girls PE 'Rat Race: Nottingham to Paris'

The fourth session this week has been postponed to the 9th of December 2010 due to the snow that is continuing to fall over Nottingham.

In Week 6 we will continue the 'Rat Race' and see who is the second team to arrive in Paris, France. Also the individual competition will come to a close next week and we will see who gains the number 1 spot.
The leaderboard will also be available to view next week via google docs, so make sure you check my tweets to see where you are in the standings.

You will also be able to vote for the Top 10 students via polleverywhere.com (On Tuesday) and we will see who is the groups champion.
