Individual Rat Race Poll Final Standings

The final standings are in and a HUGE thankyou to all the students that voted over the last 72hrs. Here are the final standings;

1st = Kyan
2nd = Zara/ Masooda/ Anisah
4th = Lauren/ Misba
6th = Majooba/ Sydelle/ Rayven/ Annalise

The reason for the poll was for each member of the top ten to gain extra KM, the place that they finished in would then earn them extra KM.
For example;
1st = 100km
2nd = 90km
3rd = 80km
4th = 70km
5th = 60km
6th = 50km
7th = 40km
8th = 30km
9th = 20km
10th = 10km

If there was a tie in positions then the points would be shared evenly for the places that are eliminated.
For example,
- Joint 2nd are Zara/ Masooda/ Anisah
- The points awarded for those 3positions are as follows;
2nd = 90km
3rd = 80km
4th = 70km
(Total of = 240/ 3 = 80km each)

The actual standings after 3 weeks are now available via the google docs link below;

Session Three: 26th of September 2011

On the 26th of September, the Year 11 Girls experienced their third session of the 'Rat Race: Nottingham to Paris' in the Gym at the Djanogly Leisure Centre. It was a very competitive session and all pupils were full of energy striving to gain the bonuses on offer en route across the country.
The girls were aware of how well their team did the week before, as the team leader was emailed the link to the blog. The girls reflected on last weeks scores, they were told that the teams that gained the greatest distance in KM were the teams that had all members hit a bonus (at least x2). Teams then began talking and at least 5KM was the target for all students.

A whopping total of 536.01KM was covered by the three teams competing!!

The girls were working together selecting which piece of equipment was the most effective from session 1 and how long to stay on for e.g. Treadmill/ Exercise Bike/ Rowing Machine etc. All teams worked very hard and at the end of the session all of the individual scores were recorded and totalled.
After the second session the scores are as follows;
3RD PLACE:
TEAM GeorgiaTieraArougeAnilaSumairaUroosaMasoodaAnaSofiaAshleigh
TOTAL: 433.20KM
POSITION: Outside Bethune, France
2ND PLACE:
TEAM KyanRayvenAnnaliseMoniqueSydelleTaniqua
TOTAL: 453.55KM
POSITION: Just Past Bethune, France
1ST PLACE:
TEAM MajoobaAnisahZaraLaurenZulfaMisba
TOTAL: 771.52KM
POSITION: In Paris!!!
WELL DONE TO.......TEAM MajoobaAnisahZaraLaurenZulfaMisba!!

They have reached the destination of Paris!! An amazing effort by all team members who powered to Victory with the following weekly totals!!
Week 1 = 201.49KM
Week 2 = 334.87KM (Beat last years highest weekly total which was 322.12KM Set by Lanasujoja)
Week 3 = 235.16KM
The competition is hotting up as it looks like its a battle for 2nd Place between TEAM KyanRayvenAnnaliseMoniqueSydelleTaniqua and TEAM GeorgiaTieraArougeAnilaSumairaUroosaMasoodaAnaSofiaAshleigh who are closing in after session 3.
The individual competition rolls into the final week and it could all change in session 4. Will TEAM MajoobaAnisahZaraLaurenZulfaMisba ease up after their team victory or will they push for extra KM in the individual competition?

For 2nd place who will it be?
TEAM KyanRayvenAnnaliseMoniqueSydelleTaniqua
or TEAM GeorgiaTieraArougeAnilaSumairaUroosaMasoodaAnaSofiaAshleigh?

It all comes down to the last session!

Bring on Session Four on Monday!!

Session Two: 19th of September 2011

On the 19th of September, the Year 11 Girls experienced their second session of the 'Rat Race: Nottingham to Paris' in the Gym at the Djanogly Leisure Centre.
Teams then began talking and at least 5KM was the target for all pupils.
A whopping total of 602.04KM was covered by the three teams competing, which is a whopping increase of 117.82KM to the first sessions total.

Next week the full individual standings will be available to view and we will have a twist after session 3 to see who will win the individual competition!!
