Group II: Session II 14th of November 2011

On the 14th of November, the Year 11 Girls experienced their second session of the 'Rat Race: Nottingham to Paris Part II' in the Gym at the Djanogly Leisure Centre. It was a very competitive session and all pupils were full of energy striving to gain the bonuses on offer en route across the country.

The girls were aware of how well their team did the week before, as the team leader was emailed the link to the blog. The girls reflected on last weeks scores, they were told that the teams that gained the greatest distance in KM were the teams that had all members hit a bonus (at least x2). Teams then began talking and at least 5KM was the target for all pupils.

A whopping total of 646.39KM (Increase on last terms group who recorded 602.04KM in session 2) was covered by the three teams competing, which is a whopping increase of 189.68KM to the first sessions total.

The girls were working together selecting which piece of equipment was the most effective from session 1 and how long to stay on for e.g. Treadmill/ Exercise Bike/ Rowing Machine etc. All teams worked very hard and at the end of the session all of the individual scores were recorded and totalled.
After the second session the scores are as follows;
3RD PLACE:
TEAM A (Jessica/ Lynn/ Hellen/ Victoria/ Stephania/ Devene/ Farhana)
TOTAL: 274KM
POSITION: Just past Maidstone
2ND PLACE:
TEAM C (Jodie/ Jess/ Geetika/ Zaibah/ Simran/ Ogechukwu/ Rukhsar)
TOTAL: 403KM
POSITION: Past Calais in France
1ST PLACE:
TEAM B (Bilvania/ Avanna/ Merina/ Hannah/ Jacqueline/ Ahsia)
TOTAL: 425KM
POSITION: In France near Bethune
We also had some amazing individual scores this week from three different girls from last week and the top 3 from this week recorded;
1st = 68.08KM (x4 Bonus)
2nd = 68.00KM (x4 Bonus)
3rd = 58.40KM (x4 Bonus)
Excellent second session in the 'Rat Race: Nottingham to Paris Part II'! Can Team A catch Team C as they cross the English Channel or will Team C power past Team B to claim the lead in Week 3? Only the next session will answer these questions!
Next week the full individual standings will be available to view and we will have a twist after session 3 to see who will win the individual competition!!
Bring on session 3 on Monday!!
